Tianeptine Testing Available

Tianeptine is an atypical tricyclic chemical compound that acts as a full agonist at the -opioid receptor and modulates glutamatergic signaling in the brain.

Tianeptine is not FDA-approved for any medical use. The FDA considers tianeptine an unsafe additive that does not meet the legal definition of a dietary supplement.

Because high doses interact with opioid receptors, tianeptine produces a rapid, euphoric high similar to traditional opioids like morphine or oxycodone.

In the U.S., it has been illegally marketed as a “nootropic,” “cognitive enhancer,” or “dietary supplement” under brand names such as Zaza, Tianna, Pegasus, and

Neptune’s Fix. This availability in convenience stores and smoke shops earned it the media nickname “gas station heroin”.
